Now, the criticisms he levels at NPR can be applied to just about all major news outlets. It pisses me off *whenever* I hear phrases like “harsh interrogation techniques” applied to what is very clearly torture, but it bugs me even more when I hear them used by NPR, and for that matter the NYT, which prides itself as “the newspaper of record”. By not using the word “torture” these news organizations are very clearly taking sides in a political debate, the result of which is that truth, fact, and journalistic integrity become sacrificial lambs for the sake of their political decision.
