this is from a police chase today in LA, and i have a feeling that the cop isn’t going to have his job for much longer. now, the suspect probably does deserve a kick in the head, but that doesn’t mean the police officer is entitled to give him one. he’s an officer of the law, and he has to show some restraint. the reporter in the helicopter is somewhat charitable and refers to it as a kick “directly in the shoulder” but it’s pretty clear that it wasn’t the shoulder. the high five at the end just adds to the sense of gratuitousness.
